PASSED TEST

(N.Z. Press Association) 1 TIMARU. May 2. Eighty-eight - year • old Mrs H. Gresson, described by the examining officer of the Transport Department as “a most capable driver,” passed the test for the renewal of her driver’s licence in Timaru today. Mrs Gresson drove the car which has been her delight for over 30 years —a 1935 Austin Seven. “I know that car so well. I can tell in an instant if it needs any attention. It is in very good order and I am fortunate to have retained good eyesight,” she said. She avoids the traffic of the main streets whenever possible. “I just go around and about, to do my messages and to visit my family and friends.”
