WELLINGTON, May 2.

The deputy general manager of the Tourist and Publicity Department (Mr R. S. Austin,) has been elected a director of the Pacific Area Travel Association for a three-year term. This was announced today by the Minister of Tourism (Mr Thomson). Other appointments made at the association’s annual conference in Seattle were Mr Walter Fei (Taiwan Tourist Council chairman) president, and Mr Matt Lurie (vicepresident, passenger division, Matson Lines) first vicepresident.
