Increase In Award
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 3. In the minimum wage rates an increase of £1 Is 9d a week is provided for in a new award for switchboard operators issued by the Court of Arbitration. The award covers workers using switchgear and electrical machinery. The new award rate is £l9 4s fid a week for the first nine months of service, and £l9 15s afterwards. Wage rates are retrospective to April 3.
