Five Hurt On Roads
Two students from Rochester Hall were injured when they fell from a truck at the intersection of Park terrace and Bealey avenue about 1.40 p.m. yesterday. Mr G. Meredith suffered head injuries and was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital. His condition was reported to be satisfactory. Mr J. O’Grady was treated for back injuries and discharged. A power-cyclist, Mr J. R. Nolan, of 6 Oriki place, Hornby, suffered internal injuries in a collision with a car at the corner of Cresswell avenue and New Brighton road about 4.50 p.m. He was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital where his condition is satisfactory. Mrs V. McLeod, of 106 Leinster road, suffered head injuries in a road accident at the corner of Cashel and Montreal streets about 6.5 p.m. She was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital where her condition was reported to be satisfactory. Shirley Ann Wood, of 17 Perth street, suffered head injuries when she fell from her bicycle in Fitzgerald avenue about 8 a.m. She was admitted to thd Christchurch Hospital where her condition was reported to be satisfactory.
