Shaped Hangers For Jackets You can do better by your suits and jackets than to hang them on wire hangers. Shaped hangers are not just a fad. They are curved like shoulders and are made that way to support and preserve the built-in contour of your jackets. It does nothing for your clothes to put them on wire hangers. Did you know, by the way, that a coat on a hanger should be left unbuttoned? This obviates stretch. For the same reason, you should unbutton your coat when you sit down.
