Vegetable And Fruit Prices
Cabbages, cauliflowers, parsnips, carrots and beetroot were in good supply on Christchurch produce markets yesterdav. The demand for these vegetables was also good. Fruit was available in limited quantities and demand was about the same as for this time last week. Prices supplied by the Christchurch Fruit and Vegetable Wholesalers' Association yesterday are as follows: Sliver Beet.—To 5s a case. Beetroot. —To 5s a case. Cabbages.—To 9s a sack. Carrots.—ss to 13s a case. Cauliflowers. —4s to 10s a case. Onions.—l2s 6d to 15s a bag. Parsnips.—2s to 10s a box. Sprouts.—To 55s a case. White Turnips.—To 4s a case. Potatoes.—l2s to 15s a bag. Spring Onions.—l2s to 15s a bag. Lettuces.—To 10s 6d a case. Leeks. —To 15s a case. Celery.—Utah: 8s a dozen. Stringless Beans.—To 28s a Cucumbers. —To 14s a case. Sweet Corn.—To 4s a tray. Butternut Pumpkins.—To 24s a case. Buttercup Pumpkins.—To 8s a case. Tomatoes.—9d to 2s a pound. Peaches. —To 15s fid case.
