TORPEDO IN NET
Firing By U.K. Submarine (N.Z. Press Association} AUCKLAND, April 11. A practice torpedo, dredged up in the net of a fishing trawler off Cape Colville, in March, was fired by the British submarine Andrew, the Navy announced today. The torpedo was released during exercises with the Australian destroyer Vampire, the New Zealand frigate Kaniere, and R.N.Z.AF. Sunderland flying-boats off the Coromandel Peninsula, in October, 1959. The record of the firing, including the serial number of the torpedo, was found among official reports kept at the British submarine base in Sydney, where the Andrew was stationed.
