Jockeys Fined

(N.Z. Press Association) RIVERTON. J. D. Crawford, the rider of Barry James, was fined £l5 for careless ridng after The Rocks Handicap at Riverton yesterday. Near the furlong post Crawford allowed Barry James to move in and take the line of Lissom Lad (A. K. Robinson), which tfas checked. Permission was granted for G. O. Finn to ride Harkaway 121 b over-weight in the Fairrax Handicap as there were no other apprentice riders available. B. P. Kennedy, the rider of Syckie in the The Rocks Handicap, was fined £lO for allowing his mount to shift ground without being sufficiently clear. Shortly after the start Syckie moved in, causing interference to Silver Atom (Mr J. Lawson) and Tandem (E. J. Didham), which had to be checked.
