The Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) said today the Japanese Government had welcomed New Zealand’s suggestions that Japanese fishing vessels have a phase-out period of fishing in New Zealand waters instead of making a joint submission to the International Court of Justice to test the legality of New Zealand’s 12-mile fishing limit.
