Clearance For Smith A senior Rugby League player was granted a clearance last evening to play for another club subject to his new club providing proof that he did not play for his old club last season. A meeting of the Canterbury Rugby League received an application for J Smith to play for the Christchurch club. The letter from Christchurch said that Smith had not played football last season but had played for Kaiapoi two years ago. The ex-Kiwis association was granted permission to arrange a match against a Canterbury XIII on Anzac Day. The venue has yet to be decided.
