The Sydney yacht Gretel, put up her best performance so far in the America’s cup trials, but was beaten by Dame Pattie for the fourth successive time. Dame Pattie won by 3min 7sec. Gretel had a new skipper, G. Ingate, on the request of her former skipper, T. Halvorsen, after Gretel was beaten for the third consecutive time on Monday. Halvorsen said after the race he would like somebody else to sail the yacht to see if the fault lay with him or the boat. “This is a national matter,” he said.
