Clay Not Drafted
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LOUISVILLE (Kentucky), March 28. Cassius Clay won another fight against conscription in Louisville yesterday, delaying indefinitely his call-up which had been set for April 11. The Louisville Draft Board, which had issued the call-up notice transferred his case to Houston, Texas, which Clay now claims as his home. Clay, aged 25, said recently that if going to war would help America’s Negroes “get fredom, justice and equality, you would not have to draft me. I would join.”
