THE BIGGEST SINGLE CONTRACT FOR HELICOPTERS ever placed with a British company has been received by the Westland Aircraft Company, Ltd., from the British Ministry of Aviation on behalf of the Royal Navy. It covers the development and supply of many Westland twin-engined helicopters which are scheduled to be in service with the Navy early in 1969. This is an artist’s impression of the new helicopter, powered by Bristol Siddeley Gnome 1400 gas-turbine engines.
