(N.Z. Press SYDNEY. The Australian tenuis player, F. S. Stolle, had received the highest offer on a yearly basis ever made to an amateur player to turn professional.
A. J. Cooper, the professionals’ representative in Australia, said: “The offer Is even bigger than that made to R. Laver, K. R. Rosewall, or L. A Hoad.” . Stolle refused to disclose the figure. “Ail I can say is that it is going to make me think very hard for the next few days,” he said.
