In Support Of Bombing

(N.Z. Press Association)

AUCKLAND, Nov. 23. In a sometimes stormy meeting at Devonport tonight the Minister of Defence (Mr Eyre) said he would give North Vietnam a basinful of bombs tomorrow morning if he had his way.

“What about the children?” an interjector shouted. “Children died in London from bombs, too,” said Mr Eyre. “We are not dealing with ourselves. We are dealing with Oriental people. They are different from ourselves. “Hanoi hopes that people like those heckling here tonight will weaken the allies so that they will go home. The person who is most thrilled by Labour Party policy today is Ho Chi Minh.”
