Advertisement In Colour

When “The Press" printed for the first time an advertisement in colour on September 20, the statement was made that the rotary gravure press used for pre-printing the advertisement, owned and operated by E. S. and A. Robinson (N.Z.), Ltd.. New Lynn, was the only one in New Zealand. A Petone firm, Reid Containers, Ltd., has advised “The Press" that it has recently built and is now using a narrow - web. five - colour gravure machine which operates on the same principle as the New Lynn machine. Its printing width, however, is much less. The firm makes and engraves its own printing cylinders.
