Drama League Contest
“Bus Stop Parable,” a play written by Wendy de la Bere, of Christchurch, has been placed first in the religious section of the British Drama League’s New Zealand competitions for one-act plays.
Results in other sections judged by Mr J. Bourne were: All women.—“ Lord, Dismiss Us,” by Warren Dibble, Hawera, 1; “A Means of Grace,” by Kathleen Mayson, Wanganui, 2: ‘Toor Man’s Gold,” by Winsome Jones, Dunedin, 3. Comedy.—“ Attic Antics.” by Earnest Adams, Christchurch, 1; “The Overseas Expert,” by Eve Hughes, Christchurch, 2; “In Season,” by Miss H. Murray, Wellington, 3.
Open.—“ The White Goddess,” by Winifred Roy, Southland, 1: “The Women of Troy,” by Brian R. Gallas, Christchurch, 2; “Now that April’s Here,” by Dorothy Thompson, 3. Highly commended.—“lncident in a Park,” by Derek Gray; “A Kind of Silence,** by Elizabeth Rowland.
