SUICIDE OF ACCUSED

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) HAGEN (West Germany), October 10.

The chief accused in the trial of 11 former officials of the Nazi Sobibor death camp in Poland hanged himself in his cell last night, court officials said today. Kurt Bolender, aged 54, who was charged with 360 murders and assisting in 84,000 others, left a note saying he never killed or maltreated a Jew. Bolender wrote that no-one in the trial would believe him and he did not want to spend the rest of his life in prison, officials said.
