Appeal Against G.M. Quashed

(N.Z. Preus Assn.—Copyright) WASHINGTON, Oct. 11 The United States Supreme Court yesterday rejected an appeal by a widow who claimed General Motors was responsible for the death of her husband because of faulty car design. Mrs Barbara Evans sought damages after her husband was killed in the 1961 Chevrolet station waggon he was driving. In its brief, General Motors said that if the suit were allow’ed, car manufacturers would be responsible for all injuries and deaths resulting from highway accidents regardless of the circumstances.
