Hurricane Dispersing

NEW ORLEANS, Oct. 11 Hurricane Inez, which left a trial of death and destruction during its 18day rampage, was breaking up rapidly in the hills west of Tampico. Mexico, the Weather Bureau in New Orleans said last night.

Inez took at least 223 lives, left thousands of people homeless and caused many millions of dollars in damage as it twisted and turned for more than 2000 miles across the Caribbean sea, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Gulf of Mexico.

Hardest hit were the islands of Guadeloupe, Hispaniola and Cuba. Inez hit north-east Mexico yesterday, damaging homes, causing floods and disrupting communciations. Damage to cotton crops was feared to be heavy.
