Oct. 10. 1 Jurors who had waited most of today to be called at the Supreme Court in Auckland were finally empanelled at 4 p.m. to hear charges of manslaughter against a man and woman and then told that the trial would begin tomorrow. For two hours Mr Justice Moller had listened to submissions from prosecution and defence counsel on aspects of the case.

Takaterangi George Tanoa, a 29-year-old panel-beater, and Ada Ngahuia Tanoa. aged 27, a housewife, are charged with causing the death of Christine Barbara Opetaia. aged 17 months. They pleaded not guilty.
