DANGEROUS CROSSING

Barrier Arms Wanted

Accidents on the Kaiapoi railway crossing on the Main North road had increased over the last year, said Cr. R. L. Wylie at last night's meeting of the Kaiapoi Borough Council. He said that barrier arms should be installed. There had been three serious accidents on the crossing, and though there had been no injuries in the last year, it seemed inevitable that there would be a death. The council decided to ask the Railways Department to install barrier arms.
