Desperate Need For Recruits

f.V Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copv right) LONDON. Professional tennis desperately needs new players, the Press Association reported. This was shown in the London international professional indoor championship which the Australian, R. Laver, won on Saturday. In the early rounds of the competition, crowds were

sparse and standards poor. Only when the giants clashed in the later rounds did attendances rise to near capacity.

The obvious recruits for the professionals would be R. Emerson, F. Stolle and M. Santana. But none of the three wish to change. I Approaches have been made recently to the American Davis Cup players, D. Ralston, C. Graebner and M. Reissen. At least two, if not three, of them may soon turn professional.
