Meter Patrol Women
Women of good character and appearance have a chance of becoming meter wardens in Christchurch to replace traffic officers on the policing of parking meters and other minor traffic offences. These were the qualifications laid down by the traffic committee last evening, when the City Council agreed to advertise.
The salary will be £675 a year to commence, rising to £745 after 12 months’ service. The women will also be issued with uniforms.
