WORLD TRADE
Bp.c. Expansion Last Year (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copy right) GENEVA, Sept. 19. International trade expanded in value by more than 8 per cent last year to a record 184,000 million dollars, the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) said yesterday. This increase in the value of world exports represented a fairly high rate of growth for the third year in succession, the report said. However, the volume of trade rose only about 7 per cent, against 10 per cent the previous year. This was partly because agricultural production advanced very little last year, and because world exports of raw materials and manufactured goods grew at a slower rate.
