D. N. Hadfield was suspended ; from race-riding until 5 p.m on September IT and his mount i Cosmetic was relegated from i first to fourth after an inquiry Into the running of the Eiffelton Hack Handicap at Ashburton on Saturday: The judicial committee of the Ashburton County Racing Club found that Cosmetic had shifted ground from the inside to the outside in the last furlong and in doing so caused Omasong and Baron's Lady to be checked and pushed out the runner-up Chow Maine. Chow Maine was promoted to: first, Omasong to second and Baron’s Lady to third. G. ■H. Murfitt, Jun., the trainer of Her Pal, and P. H. < Jones, the trainer of Allegretto, were each fined £5 for the late scratching of their horses for the Flying Handicap, second I leg at the double. I
