‘GROWING DEMAND’

Exports Of Beef (N.Z. Press Association) HAMILTON, Sept. 11. New Zealand could sell all the beef it produced, said the Minister of Overseas Trade (Mr Marshall). Mr T. Fitzsimons, chairman of the dairy section of Waikato Federated Farmers, had asked the Minister to clarify the market position for New Zealand beef, especially dairy beef. “Beef is in universal de-, mand and I do not anticipate any difficulties in the disposal of increased quantities of it," Mr Marshall said. “There is a growing demand in Japan for beef and the rights of access to Europe are much better than for lamb. We can produce as much beef as possible and sell every ton of it.”
