INVITED TO U.K.
The leading jockey, R. J. Skelton, is likely to ride in England next year. He has been asked to ride in a £lO,OOO race which the Racecourse Association, Ltd., of London, hopes to hold at Goodwood next March, according to a Press Association message from Auckland. Skelton received the invitation through the New Zealand Racing Conference. He said yesterday he was thrilled to accept. The Racecourse Association, Ltd., has invited the leading jockeys from 16 countries to' ride in the race, and is prepared to pay each his travelling and hotel expenses. The rider of the winner will receive £lOOO. Skelton, aged 32, is married with four children. He has been the leading jockey in New Zealand for six of the last 11
