Fibreglass Spire

The Tawa Anglican Church now has a fibreglass spire, the first in Wellington. The spire was built in two halves at a Belmont factory. The panelling and internal jin reinforcing rods are all of fibreglass. The rods hold more than 800.000 filaments of glass, each filament finer than a human hair.
