Prayers For Conference

A cablegram sent to the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) for the opening of the Prime Ministers’ conference in London from the National Council of Churches in New Zealand read’— “National Council of Churches prays for divine guidance for all Prime Ministers at this vital conference.”

The Rev. D. M. Taylor, general secretary of the council, said that a crisis in the British Commonwealth was a serious matter. Every fellowship which helped nations and races to listen to one another and understand one another was good. “The Prime Ministers need the help of the prayers of believers so that at least one forward step may be taken in regard to both Rhodesia and Vietnam,” said Mr Taylor.
