Motorways
Sir, —I think the Regional Planning Authority should be made to organise alternative home areas for the hundreds of families they so callously plan to push out. With all the millions at their disposal, it should be a mere bagatelle for them to provide new housing areas with all amenities. Many of the homes to be displaced were bought in “sensible” times at sensible prices. Where are these householders supposed to find homes at the “affluent” prices asked today? The Regional Planning Authority should do some more planning, and consider people before cars. Surely this idea is not impossible.—Yours, etc., R.A.B. September 8, 1966.
