OPOSSUM CONTROL
Statement By i Trappers
“It would seem that some misunderstanding has arisen between private licensed operators and the Waimakarirl Rabbit Board,” said the president of the recently formed Oppossum Trappers Association, (Mr N. W. Lawson). Mr Lawson was commenting on the disapproval expressed by the majority of the board, of the private approved poison operator assisting in the control of oppossum’s in the board’s area. Mr Lawson said the association felt that a few small incidents had assured a proportion of misconception.
“The board chairman (Mr A. Spencer-Bower), has been generous enough when approached to invite a delegation of our association to the next board meeting, at which we feel sure that a satisfactory mutual arrangement can be concluded,” he said.
“Interested approved operators and trappers in this board area should get in touch with either Mr SpencerBower or myself,” he said.
