Turn’Over On Saturday

A record on-course totalisator turn-over for a night meeting at Addington Raceway was handled on Saturday evening. On-course turn-over amounted to £138,233 10s, including £19,820 10s in doubles, compared with £95,399 10s at a day meeting 12 months ago. The previous best on-course turnover at a night meeting was in 1964 on August 22 when £137,090 was handled. That was on the night of another Rugby test at Lancaster Park. Off-course investments oh Saturday amounted to £153,453, compared with £118,414 10s 12 months ago and £158,523 15$ in 1964. The meeting was held in cold, overcast weather, with drizzle falling for much of the time. A crowd of 11,885 saw racing of a Very high standard on a fast track.
