APPROACH BY N.A.C.

W.Z. Press Association'

WELLINGTON, Aug. 28, The National Airways Corporation has asked the Wellington City Council for improvements to Wellington Airport which could cost about £250,000.

The Wellington manager of N.A.C. (Mr H. D. Yates) said yesterday: “We are going to need these improvements by August, 1968—just two years away—when we have the new jet aircraft. “Christchurch and Auckland are well ahead with their preparations but Wellington has so far done nothing, so we have produced a plan of what is needed.

“This has been accepted well and we can only hope that these facilities will be provided in time for the introduction of the new jet aircraft. Otherwise we’ll have chaotic handling at Wellington Airport,” Mr Yates said.
