" (N.Z. Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH. The northern mare, Micheline, ran away to win the Inglewood Handicap, first leg of the T.A.B. double on the second day of the Taranaki Jockey and Hunt Clubs’ Steeplechase meeting at New Plymouth on Saturday.

Micheline, the each-way favourite, was followed home by Beira and Bright Coral. The second leg of the double, the Members’ Handicap, was won by Super Time. It was his first win since January, 1965. The feature event, the Jockey Club Hack and. Hunters’ Steeplechase, went to the Hamilton-owned and trained Stony Broke, which produced a good performance after disappointing on the first day.
