Cuddle Doon, at odds of 33' to 1, caused a major upset] In the Lightning Handicap, for; which Robin Dundee was an odds-on favourite and could do no better than finish seventh. As a reasult of that win Cuddle Doon is now eligible for the £l5OO National
1 Handicap on the second night of the meeting. i T. M. May won the race with Cuddle Doon when he sent him to the front with more than six furlongs left and opened a short break over his rivals. He led by two lengths early in the run [home and came on to win by two lengths and a half. I Password and Dieppe, in [the first four all the way, filled the next two placings) | with half a length between them. Town Martial made up a little ground to finish fourth a neck away, a head in front |of Turbulence. Lakeda was [half a head back sixth, a length and a half in front of [ Robin Dundee. i Robin Dundee began brilliantly. M Holmes waited the opportunity for a reasonable 'run, but this did not come. [She showed up wide out at [the straight entrance but was; [some lengths from the! [ leaders. She passed a few [runners over the final 150 [yards, but at no stage looked 'like paying a dividend. [ Lyndhurst broke at the start.
