Manslaughter Charge (N.Z. Press Association) TAIHAPE, Aug. 19. A 25-year-old housewife. Mere Kara O’Brien, also known as Mary Kara O'Brien, of Pipipi road, Raetihi, appeared before R. J. Tregurtha. J.P., at Taihape this morning on a charge of the manslaughter of John William O'Brien, aged 13 months, at Raetihi on August 9. She was remanded to September 7 on bail of £250 with one surety of £250. She was ordered to report daily to the police.
