The directors of the Broken Hill Proprietary Company have announced that consolidated net profit for the year to May 31, excluding 587,000 dollars attributable to minority interests, amounted to 36,009,000 dollars. This compares with la‘t year’s profit of 38,520,000 dollars. The consolidated results are after providing 65,834,000 dollars for depreciation (66,819,000) and 26.926,000 dollars for income ta., against 30,676,000 the year before. An amount of 3,720,000 dollars (9,300,000) has been appropriated from consolida’ ed profits for anticipated expenditure on mining plant and development. Net profit of the parent company was 23,765,000 do'lars compared with 24,264,000 dollars. The figures are subject to audit.
