INDUSTRIAL LAND
Council May Buy Some Waimairi County Council on Thursday evening supported in principle the acquisition by the council of land for industrial purposes. It asked its town-planning committee to investigate the possibility of “firm action on this matter.” Cr A. A. Adcock said no industry had come to the county for several years because no suitable land was available. If the council itself could buy land and make it available to industry at a suitable price, it would be a step towards encouraging industry in the county.
