RETURN TO WORK
F.O.L Request To Carpenters (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 17. Carpenters at the Marsden Point power station site, who have refused to work since June 15 in protest against labour-only contracting, would be asked to go back to work on Monday, the president of the Federation of Labour (Mr T. E, Skinner) said. Mr Skinner said the federation was pleased that the Minister of Labour (Mr Shand) had set up a committee to investigate labour-only contracting. In accordance with terms discussed by the federation and Mr Shand in Wellington on Wednesday, the carpenters would- be asked to return to work.
