Eighth Birthday Celebrated
Celebrations for the eighth birthday of the Canterbury East Centre of the Country Women’s Institute were held recently in St Andrew’s Church Hall. Members were entertained with piano solos by Miss R. Keegan and recitations by Mrs N. Rae. The choir sang a bracket of songs.
Annual prizes were presented by the president, Mrs E. Tait Prize winners were Mesdames D. Bowen, G. Chiplin and F. Welsh.
The birthday cake was made by Mrs Chlplin, iced by Mrs H. Widdowson, and cut by Mesdames L Parker, G. Chiplin and M. Morten.
