Computer’s Error

CSpeclal Crspdt. N.Z.P.A ) SYDNEY, July 14. An electronic Cupid, set the task of matching suitable partners for Queensland University’s > ball next Saturday, has made an embarrassing error. After pairing-off 225 couples as statistically ideal partners, the computer matched two men. Adrian Crowe, aged 22, an economics student, and 21-year-old Constantine Drozdovski, a science student, had to admit they had similar interests, but declined to accompany each other to the ball. The organiser of the ball, Paul Peake, aged 20, said: “We expected Cupid to make a few mistakes, but nothing as serious as this. The names will be resubmitted to give Cupid, another chance.” •
