(N.Z. Press Association) NELSON, July 14. Player* who compete in the New Zealand taxidrivers’ golf tournament at Nelson next month with a car as the prize for holing in one on the 17th green will infringe their amateur status, according to a letter sent by the Nelson District Golf Associa-
tion to the organiser of the tournament. The letter says that under the Rules of Golf amateur status is forfeited by any players who compete with the intention or hope of receiving a prize with a retail value of more than £5O and which is readily convertible into money.
