Trades Council Imposes Ban
The Canterbury’ district council of the Federation of Labour last evening gave its executive and disputes committee full power to act, in conjunction with its affiliates, to enforce a ban on Masonry Services, Ltd., of Christchurch, and others.
Masonry Services, ; Ltd., has been employ- | ing block-layers on labour-only contracts. A ban would be enforced till the firm gave an undertaking to the council that the terms and conditions of the appropriate awards were complied with, said a statement issued by the press committee of the council after the council’s monthly meeting last evening. The council reaffirmed its full support for the Carpenters’ Union in its eflforts
