Pay Increases In Clothing Trade

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 14. Wage rises up to 20s 6d a week for tailor-cutters and 10s 5d for women machinists are included in an award just Issued by the Arbitration Court for the clothing industry. The pay Increases are retrospective to June 8. The new award minimum for joumeywomen machinists Is £lO 12s a week and for male cutters £l6 15s. The male casual rate Is 8s an hour, an increase of 4}d.
