A 21-year-old Adelaide husband's claim that he had used hypnosis on his wife during the week-end to Induce the birth of their 61b daughter a week early was absurd, a leading Adelaide obstetrician said yesterday. His wife must have been tn early labour when the husband began the hypnosis, the obstetrician said. He also described as absurd the statement today by the husband, Mr Robert Coonan, that he and his wife Bernice, aged 21, would attempt to determine the sex of the next child by hypnosis before conception.
