Slight Lift By Sterling

(N.Z.P.A.Reuter —Coppriflhl) NEW YORK, July 13. Sterling, which sunk to its lowest level since November, 1964, on the international money markets yesterday, recovered slightly in New York and Montreal today. In New York the pound opened at 2.78} U.S. dollars compared with 2.78-2/3 yesterday. In Montreal it was 2.99-7/8 in terms of Canadian dollars, up one-eighth. Business Personal Mr L. G. Hucks, has been appointed chairman of Straits Air Freight Express. He succeeds Mr B. R. Law, who has retired. Mr Hucks is managing director of BP (New Zealand).—(P.A.).
