With the forwards playing itoo loosely, the Aucklanders !had to struggle bard to gain (dominance. The home team’s pack won an equal share of the ball from set play, but its backs lacked penetration. For Auckland, T. Tautarangi (2), R. Urlich and B. Keys scored tries: D. Laurie kicked four penalties and converted two tries and P. Purdoch kicked a dropped goal. Golden Bay-Motueka’s points came from a try by M. Win and two penalties by J. Soanes.
