The two greatest women tennis rivals of the day—Miss M. Smith (Australia) and Miss M. E. Bueno (Brazil)—are playing as partners in the Hoylake (Cheshire) tennis tournament. They have never played as a pair before.
The pairing Is “one of the most surprising things to happen in lawn tennis for years,” Mid the “Daily Telegraph” tennis writer, Lance Tingay. “It is rather as If Wellington had formed a combined command with Napoleon.”
