LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
(1) Letters eent to the Editor for printing should preferably be typed, otherwise they must be written in ink on one side of the paper only. A legible signature and full address are required whether these are to be published or not. A P O. box number is not a sufficient address. (2) Writers must say clearly whether or not their letters are being or have been sent to other papers. (3) The Editor cannot return or keep any letter which for any reason is unsuitable for printing; nor can he acknowledge unsuitable letters although this will be done where it seems to be needful, or enter into any correspondence (4) Letters must not be of more than 150 words.
Curious.—The minimum weight for the Winter Cup when Tdxeuma won the race in 1930 was 9-0. The minimum in 1946 and 1947, the two years Soneri won, was 8-0. Stick of Chalk.—lf you know of any specific Instances of traffic inspectors ‘‘turning a blind eye to gross offences” you should report them to the traffic superintendent. Such general charges are unhelpful and unfair. A. P. Harrison.—The Treaty of Rome Is a long document which would take several pages of this newspaper to print in full. We have printed summaries of its operative sections. As -Parliament is sovereign under constitutional law, talk of “treason” is nonsense.
